Yesterday one of our monks came back from Mustang with a surprise: two puppies of Mustanghi Mastiffs.
They are beautiful.
We will keep only one, the black one.
Traditionally the guardian dogs of Tibetan Monasteries are black. It is said that they are connected with the Great Protector Mahakala (maha means great, kala means black).
Our small protector immediately has shown that he knows his work. He waves his tail to the kids and us, and he barks and growls to the foreigners walking on the road outside our monastery!
And he is only 2 months old!
He doesn't have a name yet, Khempo Samten Gyatso will give it, when he will understand better the way our small protector is :)
